When it comes to photographing the perfect shot, there is no sure fire recipe; or is there? I fell in love with photographymilitary because it allowed me to tell a story and capture moments that must be shared with others.
Now you’re probably wondering, what does this have to do with photographing the perfect shot? Well for me the perfect shot is a moment in time that generates emotions of excitement, inspiration, happiness, anger, expectation, etc. Documenting moments is an opportunity to share with others something that will never happen again. The perfect shot that translates the emotion you felt in that moment is challenging, but can be done.
What Goes into Making the Perfect Photograph?
I learned photography fundamentals at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. My passionate teacher encouraged me to dream and find what inspired me. Now, do yourself a favor and examine your photographs. Do your photographs inspire you? Do your photographs establish an emotion in someone else? Photographers are tasked with the challenge of capturing the perfect photograph by training the eyes to use fundamental techniques and principles to maintain balance, exposure and depth no matter the subject.“Photography for me is not looking, it’s feeling. If you can’t feel what you’re looking at, then you’re never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures.” – Dan McCullin
Inspired to be a Great Photographer
Photography, like any other field, needs to be researched and studied. I encourage you to view other photographers work for inspiration, ideas or just leisurely reading. Libraries are a great source to find books on photographers like Ansel Adams, Stephen Shore or dramatic scenes from Gregory Crewdson.Among The Shadows
Take a look at the photographs I have taken and discover the emotion you feel after viewing the photo. What moment do the photos remind you of? Please share the emotion or memory that comes to you. I invite you to view more photographic art prints from the Adam Dax Gallery and contact me for ordering prints.
